01 / THE BRIEF

A working boatyard.
A website that works.

The original site had the essentials: services, boatyard photos and contact details. The opportunity was to make those pieces work harder together, so a boat owner could understand the options and take the next step with confidence.

I redesigned the whole experience around that journey. The business keeps its recognisable red identity and real boatyard photography, with clearer service information, useful planning content and a guided way to enquire.

Give people a reason to get in touch, then make it easy.

02 / BEFORE & AFTER

Same business.
A clearer way in.

Four parts of the upgrade.

A first impression with a next step.

The original homepage introduced the business. The redesign gives that introduction a clearer hierarchy: what the yard does, where it is, and an immediate invitation to plan a haul-out.

From a list to a service journey.

A single service list becomes six distinct services, each with imagery, a short explanation and its own detail page. Visitors can explore the work that fits their boat before getting in touch.

Put the real yard in the story.

The old gallery showed the boats and the work. The redesign brings that photography into the service pages and the boatyard story, alongside information about the people, facilities and how a visit works.

A better starting point for the conversation.

The original contact form asked for a name, email, subject and message. The new flow guides boat owners through their service, vessel details and contact information, so the conversation can start with useful context.

THE SAME CLEAR NEXT STEP, ON A PHONE.
READY WHEN THE CUSTOMER IS

From the boat.
From the backyard.

Boat owners do not always start at a desk. The mobile experience keeps the story readable and the contact options close, with persistent shortcuts to call the yard or plan a haul-out.

The enquiry breaks the request into three manageable steps. Vessel measurements are optional, so people can share what they know and let the yard help with the rest.

  • Responsive pages and mobile contact shortcuts
  • Service choice, vessel details and contact information
  • Clear expectations about what happens next
  • A direct phone option alongside the online enquiry

A DEDICATED PAGE FOR EACH SERVICE.
HELPFUL BEFORE THE FIRST CALL

Answer the questions.
Make the next step clear.

Dedicated service pages explain the work, what to prepare and what to discuss with the team. Planning guides cover haul-outs, wet season storage and hull maintenance, with FAQs alongside the main journey.

That gives visitors more context before they enquire, and gives each service a focused page people can find and share.

04 / WHAT IT MAKES POSSIBLE

A stronger presence.
A useful first contact.

The result is a complete redesign built around lead generation: a more confident first impression, clearer service discovery and a structured enquiry that helps the yard understand the boat and the job.

It is an approach that fits plenty of service businesses. Explain the work, help people prepare, and make it easy to start a conversation with the details your team needs.
